Biden Untruthful 3 Times in Press Conference About His Classified Documents Case

CNN Fact Checker, Daniel Dale, pointed our 3 times Biden was untruthful during his press conference on 2/8. You may recall, this is the same press conference where Biden commented on the special counsel who described Biden in his report as an elderly man with a poor memory.

Biden’s 3 untruths:

Biden said:

  1. “all the stuff that was in my homes was in filing cabinets that were either locked or able to be locked.”  This was not true. Some documents were found in an unsealed and badly damaged box in his garage alongside an assortment of household detritus (defined as gravel, sand, silt, or other material produced by erosion or organic matter produced by the decomposition of organisms). The special counsel had a photo of the box! And Biden still said this!
  • “None of it was high classified. It didn’t have any of that red stuff on it, you know what I mean, around the corners? None of that.” This was not true. The special counsel reported finding documents that were marked “Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmental Information” – clearly a high level of security required and notebooks that contained classified information.
  • That he can guarantee that he did not share classified information with a ghostwriter. When challenged that the special counsel said that Biden did, Biden said, “No, they did not say that. He did not say that.” According to Dale, the special counsel did say “Mr. Biden shared information, including some classified information from those notebooks with his ghostwriter.
